Just as gin won us over, we’ve won over the audience. The brand was born out of love, and as long as that exists, so will Pišem ti po zidu.

When someone says the brand started with gin, you might think it’s a bit playful. And it is—this whole story began as a joke but grew into a brand we proudly wear and like on Instagram. Innovative approach, lots of creativity—guarantee of success for any entrepreneur? Exactly that kind of small entrepreneurial miracle is “Pišem ti po zidu”, a brand born from gin, humor, and the initiative of young and enterprising women who turned their creativity into social media content and eventually built a small business.

“Pišem ti po zidu” is a feel-good Instagram profile where you can find daily ironic and humorous thoughts from a female creative team, plus visuals that can be printed on T-shirts, hoodies, notebooks, or bags—your choice. Laughter, emotion, and sarcasm are a winning combination that the brand’s founders used to captivate the Croatian online audience and launch their original products on the market.

This project quickly conquered Instagram, and the T-shirts with their witty and relatable slogans have likely appeared on many profiles across Croatia, maybe even on your neighbor. The increasingly popular and recognizable “Pišem ti po zidu” proves the power of emotion, courage, and social media. We spoke with the founder of the whole story—Marija Gaur.

It all started with gin!

One day, while having a glass of gin with her friend, Marija got the idea to share her observations about the world we live in on a dedicated Instagram profile—and that’s how it all began. From visuals to T-shirts to mugs, the business grew day by day. “Pišem ti po zidu” soon reached the hearts of many millennials, and today the profile has nearly 14,000 followers.

“We started with gin and a few good jokes that had to see the light of day on Instagram. Very quickly, the profile “Pišem ti po zidu” gathered a large number of followers, and likes kept multiplying. But those numbers mean nothing compared to how many people save, share, contact us… how excited they get for each new visual, because almost everyone can relate to each visual,” explains Marija, adding that her inspiration comes from everyday situations.

“Process? Inspiration? The process happens with a friend over coffee, on a taxi or tram ride, after a good show, or even a fight with a boyfriend. Creativity is discipline, a little mess and a little order, and voilà, something interesting and new. We draw inspiration from everything around us,” she says. Currently, the brand has 38 visuals that can be printed on T-shirts, all selling almost equally, showing how universal the themes addressed by “Pišem ti po zidu” are.

“Of the 38 visuals, all sell almost equally, but “Nemam ti kad” is surprisingly liked by both guys and girls, while the new “Volim svu hranu i neke ljude” has quite a few supporters and buyers,” says Marija.

Love and positive energy as the driving force

For us, “Pišem ti po zidu” is above all fun and a way to escape daily life. Now that it’s a business, we consider it a great fortune to do what we love, and the audience feels it,” she explains. Recently, “Pišem ti po zidu” T-shirts have become available not only online but also in stores. You can find the interesting visuals in Zagreb at Britanski trg in Nati Tisku, Ilica 61 pop-up store.

Although they admit they never expected a real fashion brand to grow from an Instagram profile or such rapid popularity, the girls now have well-developed plans for further expanding their business.
The plan is to enjoy our work and work a lot. And of course, handle everything with style,” concludes Marija.
