S-Box box is a unique marketing tool containing free product samples, products, and other perks, distributed directly to registered students at universities across Croatia. The box is prepared by a team that secures samples and products from their clients, organizes the packaging, and handles distribution of S-Box boxes to each location. We bring you the story of how S-Box came to be and how Blue Frame helped this idea in today’s interview with Tina Turuk, coordinator of promotional activities for S-Box.
- What exactly is S-Box?
S-Box is a project that has been running in the Croatian market for 11 years. It is a box containing free samples, discount coupons, and promotional perks distributed individually. The project encourages long-term brand and/or product loyalty, and the distribution takes place in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, and North Macedonia, twice a year, timed for the end and start of the academic year. Over its 11 years of existence, it has become recognizable and unique in the region.

2. Who is it intended for?
The project is a unique and complete marketing model targeting a specific group—students aged 18 to 26, with special emphasis on freshmen during the particularly sensitive moment of getting to know and building an emotional connection with a brand. Moving out of their parents’ home, students find themselves making independent purchasing decisions for the first time, and this is exactly when S-Box, together with participating brands, comes into play.
3. Do you have any plans for future development?
We always strive to remain relevant to students by ensuring that the products in the box closely match their needs and desires, rather than just filling it with whatever we receive. To achieve this, we focus on intensive communication with students to better understand their needs. With today’s technology, we believe digitalization is key to future development. Additionally, we want to provide our clients with the best possible feedback on their products, brand perception, and student needs. To bring these two groups—producers and their users—closer together, this year we plan an “S-Box party,” a gathering of producers/clients and students. Of course, this will depend on pandemic conditions.

4. How did you hear about Blue Frame?
I discovered Blue Frame through social media privately, but professionally I got a recommendation from a colleague who led S-Box last year, as well as from another colleague whose project Blue Frame had produced promotional materials for. Later, I personally witnessed the professionalism, approachability, and friendliness of the team at MK.

5. How did Blue Frame assist you throughout the process?
Blue Frame has been very helpful throughout the entire project, but what we especially value is their support for our prize competition. For two years in a row, Blue Frame has shown goodwill by providing prizes in the form of high-quality T-shirts with fun prints that consistently delight our students. Once again, we sincerely thank them for everything!
